Our insights

We can only rebuild the promise to Australians when we listen to Australians. We're listening, learning, and amplifying the collective voice of Australians, ensuring that solutions reflect what the country really wants and needs. AMPLIFY INSIGHTS are the results of our continuous community polling.

2025 Annual National Insights : AMPLIFY’s second annual national survey seeks to understand what Australians care about most, and how they see the nation’s biggest challenges.

We surveyed 4,000 Australians from all walks of life, ensuring a nationally representative sample by age, gender, and location. The survey explored five major themes: ambition and vision for Australia’s future, trust in institutions, social and generational divides, political polarisation, and housing.

Our research found Australians are feeling the strain of rising living costs and deepening inequality, leaving many with a growing sense of being left behind. Trust in politics is eroding, with widespread doubt that leaders can deliver meaningful reform.
Despite this, communities remain strong — Australians continue to trust one another and are calling for leaders who show honesty, courage and real understanding.

PULSE August 2025: In the lead-up to the Federal Government’s Economic Reform Roundtable in Canberra, AMPLIFY partnered with YouGov to capture the community's views on productivity reform.

The findings revealed a striking disconnect between the government’s agenda and the nation's pulse.

73% had not heard of the roundtable, and 6 in 10 were not confident it would lead to meaningful change.

PULSE May 2025: In late May 2025, just weeks before national housing targets and supply challenges dominated winter headlines, AMPLIFY partnered with YouGov to capture community sentiment on housing policy.

1 in 4 Australians (24%) ranked housing as the number one policy area where they want the Federal Government to take bold action.

Affordability was identified as the biggest challenge in local communities, cited by 61% of respondents.

Australians also pointed clearly to solutions. Seventy per cent supported expanding the use of prefab housing, and 57% backed changes to planning rules to allow more homes near public transport and urban centres.

PULSE April 2025: In the lead-up to the April 2025 Federal Election, AMPLIFY partnered with YouGov to capture how Australians were feeling about politics, policy, and trust in leadership.

Only 5% of Australians believe politicians are focused on solving the country’s challenges, while 72% believe they are primarily focused on winning votes, while almost half (47%) said they were worse off now than a year ago. Housing stood out as a serious election issue, with 56% paying close attention to party announcements on affordability and supply.

The findings make clear that Australians want more than election slogans. They are ready for ambitious reforms that match the scale of today’s challenges, particularly in housing, and will not settle for short-term fixes.

2024 Annual National Insights: This report shares the findings from AMPLIFY’s inaugural national survey, our first foray into understanding what Australians care about most, and how they see the nation’s biggest challenges.

We surveyed 4,000 Australians from all walks of life, ensuring a nationally representative sample by age, gender, and location. The survey explored five major themes: ambition and vision for Australia’s future, trust in institutions, social and generational divides, political polarisation, and housing.

Our findings reveal a striking consensus on what matters—healthcare, housing, education, economic growth, and justice—alongside deep frustration a lack of long-term ambition in policy. Australians want to see bold reforms and are ready for leaders to take action. Trust in major institutions is low, with the public placing greater faith in experts and in each other. There’s also strong support for involving the community directly in shaping solutions, especially on issues like housing.
