Bigger Bolder Action On Housing

The promise of affordable, secure housing for all Australians is broken. We must act now – before it’s too late to build the houses Australia needs.

The promise of secure, affordable housing for Australians has been broken.

Prices have raced ahead of wages, renting is often insecure and unfair, and there aren’t enough suitable homes for a growing and changing population.

Our mission is to rebuild the promise of a fair and equitable Australia – starting with a housing campaign built from community voices and evidence-based policy.

Our campaign so far

2024

When we launched AMPLIFY, 95% of respondents to our first national survey ranked housing as one of the biggest challenges facing the country.
We spent time talking to economists, think tanks and policy experts to find possible solutions to the housing crisis.

Early 2025

We took these proposals to the people.
We gathered 100 nationally representative Australians at our first AMPLIFICATION to consider reform proposals, and after a weekend of deliberation the message was clear: Australians are ready for bold, practical reform.

Now

The AMPLIFICATION generated a powerful, community-backed mandate. We’re using that mandate to push for bold, evidence-based housing reform, rebuilding the promise of affordable, secure housing for all Australians.
There are early signs of progress but there’s much more to do.

It's time for bigger bolder action on housing – before it’s too late.

Modern methods of construction

Building smarter and faster

96% back utilising modern methods of construction like prefab construction to build more homes more efficiently. This means shifting some construction work offsite to factories where whole or part homes are manufactured quickly, safely and at scale.

Unlocking density

More homes where people want to live

94% of participants back increasing housing density in our major cities, unlocking more housing in the places people want to live, near jobs, schools and transport. But a restrictive planning system pushes up the costs - both financial and social.
