Meet John Fusco, an industry leader in modular construction
Interested in prefabrication since his days at the University of South Australia, John Fusco wondered why we were still constructing in the same ways after hundreds of years. So, when John founded Fusco Constructions in 2002 and opportunities arose to deliver modular school buildings, they jumped at it – but these jobs were infrequent and small, making it challenging for businesses like Fusco to invest in growing their capabilities.
The South Australian Year 7 to High School Project changed that, with Fusco Constructions delivering 11 modular projects over three years.
This pipeline of work transformed Fusco’s operations, increasing their capability, investing in employment and training and building a $6 million purpose-designed facility.
Now, they’re delivering modular builds in a fraction of the time it takes for a traditional build.
